Background:
Rebecca Muysson looks like she is walking on air as she participates in the Running Long Jump at a recent Field Day. The grade one student at John Knox Christian School was part of a team led by a grade eight ‘buddy’ that had members from across all the grades. “The entire student body is divided up in this way, and it’s a great way to have the grade eight students take some responsibility for the younger students. The young ones just love their ‘big buddies’ too,” said Mrs. Bonnie Desjardins, the Principal at John Knox. “Hearing the older students cheer for the younger ones, and make sure they get to all their events is really wonderful. Organizing the field day in this manner has been a real community building experience.”
